1. Who we are
The retreats are organised and delivered by Hamadryade Lodge under the brand Hamadryade Retreats, based in Puerto Misahuallí, Napo province, Ecuador. The legal name and tax ID (RUC) appear in your booking confirmation and invoices. Contact: retreats@hamadryade-retreats.com.
By booking a retreat or using this website you accept these terms, together with the Privacy Policy, the Cookie Policy and the Health, Safety and Liability Notice.
2. The retreats
Each retreat lasts 8 days and 7 nights at Hamadryade Lodge, with the dates, programme, capacity and intended audience shown on its page. Retreats are for adults; Deux Âmes is for couples and Golden Horizons for people aged 65 or over.
The programme may be adjusted (order of activities, times, guides or venues) for weather, safety, availability or to better suit the group, while keeping its nature and quality. Places are limited and allocated in order of confirmation.
3. Prices and what is included
Prices are in US dollars (USD). The published price is per person, except Deux Âmes, which is per couple. It includes what is described under “What’s included” on each retreat page (for example accommodation, meals, ceremonies and programme activities, and transfers to and from Quito airport).
Unless stated otherwise, it does not include: flights, travel insurance, personal expenses, extras not described and services booked with third parties. We may offer special rates for agencies and groups, confirmed in writing.
The amount shown at payment or in your proposal is the final price for the service booked; where they exist, applicable taxes are also itemised there.
4. Booking and payment
You can book in two ways: pay directly through the WeTravel gateway, or contact us first through the form, email or WhatsApp, in which case we send you a proposal. In both cases the checkout or the proposal shows the exact amount and the payment options (deposit or full payment).
Your booking is confirmed when we receive the 50% deposit and you receive the booking confirmation. The balance is due 30 days before the start of the retreat. If the balance is not received on time, we may release your place after notifying you.
Once your booking is confirmed we will send practical information, the health questionnaire and arrival instructions.
5. Changes and cancellation by you
If you need to cancel or change your booking, write to retreats@hamadryade-retreats.com as soon as possible; the date we receive your written notice is the one that counts. Date changes are subject to availability.
The financial terms that apply (how much of what you paid is refundable and within what deadlines) are those we show you before you pay, whether in the WeTravel checkout, in the proposal or in the booking confirmation, and are deemed accepted when you pay. Early departure, no-show or non-participation in part of the programme does not entitle you to a refund for unused services, unless the law provides otherwise. We recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation.
Where applicable consumer law allows, accommodation and leisure services booked for a specific date or period are not subject to a right of withdrawal. Consumers’ mandatory rights are not affected by these terms.
6. Changes or cancellation by us
If, because of force majeure, serious safety reasons or not reaching the minimum number of participants, we must cancel or reschedule a retreat, we will tell you as soon as we know and you may choose between a full refund of what you paid for that retreat or moving your booking to another date.
7. Health, safety and participation
The retreats are wellness experiences, not medical treatment. You must tell us truthfully about your health, medication, allergies and limitations, and follow the team’s instructions. We may recommend that you not take part in certain activities or ceremonies, or decline participation where there is a serious risk to your health or the group’s, assessing each case with care and respect. 8. Travel, documents and insurance
You are responsible for having a valid passport, visas, vaccinations and any entry requirements for Ecuador, and for checking health recommendations for travelling to the Amazon. We recommend travel insurance with medical, evacuation and cancellation cover.
9. Conduct and respect
We ask for respect towards other participants, the team, the communities and traditions that accompany us and the nature around us. We may ask anyone who endangers the group’s safety or harmony to leave the retreat, with no obligation to refund unused services.
10. Images and intellectual property
The texts, photographs, videos, trademarks and designs on this website belong to Hamadryade or their authors and may not be reproduced without permission. We may take images during retreats; we will only publish them with your express permission, which you may refuse or withdraw without any effect on your participation.
11. Liability
We are liable for damage we cause through wilful misconduct or negligence and do not exclude any liability the law does not allow us to exclude. We are not liable for events beyond our control, such as force majeure, delays or cancellations of flights and other transport we do not manage, or the loss or misplacement of personal belongings. Activities in the rainforest and adventure activities carry inherent risks described in the Health, Safety and Liability Notice.
12. Use of the website
We strive to keep website information accurate and current, but dates, availability and content may change; the written confirmation of your booking prevails over any published information. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience and we do not control their content. Using the site for unlawful purposes or in a way that may damage it is prohibited.
13. Consumers in the EU, the UK and other countries
If you live in the European Union or the European Economic Area and your booking is a package travel arrangement under European rules, in addition to what these terms state you enjoy the rights those rules give you, including: clear information about the trip before you contract; the possibility of terminating the contract before it starts, and without penalty where unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances at the destination significantly affect the trip; refund of your payments without undue delay and, where applicable, within 14 days at most; limits on changes to the price and the contract; and the organiser’s responsibility for the proper performance of the services included. These provisions prevail over any clause in these terms that conflicts with them.
Likewise, if you live in the United Kingdom, the United States or another country, the mandatory rights your local law gives you are not affected by these terms.
14. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ecuador. Before going to court we will try to resolve any disagreement amicably; write to us at retreats@hamadryade-retreats.com. Unless mandatory law provides otherwise in the consumer’s favour, disputes will be submitted to the competent courts of Napo province, Ecuador.
We may update these terms; the version in force on the date you confirmed your booking applies to it.
